Just finished reading Nietzsche's The Antichrist, the first of the four-part collection of essays, Revaluation of All Values, which was never completed.

Update: Poems "Interpretations of Silence" (3/7)
Here:
Bird questions
The third poem in the ongoing project, "Interpretations of Silence." As I put them up one by one, I feel the end of the year drawing nearer and nearer.
This one just flowed out after the first sentence came to my mind one day. I had just begun reading Heidegger's Being and Time then. This poem consists mainly of questions, and in that sense it is inconclusive and (hopefully) thought-provoking. The obvious double-meaning of the title is to be noted.

The other day in OCT lecture, professor Megill was making a point that so-called "history of philosophy" courses taught in American universities often tend to be really "history of epistemology."

Update: Poems "Interpretations of Silence" (2/7)
Here:
A Simple Sun
The second poem in the ongoing project, "Interpretations of Silence." I have 5 more to come.
One of the important themes of "Interpretation of Silence" is "anti-poetry." I mean something quite positive by this, and my very putting forward these pieces affirms that paradox. Oh poetry, this contradictory enterprise! But as Nietzsche said, "the price of fruitfulness is to be rich in internal opposition."
But enough of theoretical rubbish. This one is a simple love poem. A love poem... well, why would I even need this qualification? All my poems are love poems anyway.

Breathtakingly intense. Daringly beautiful. Elle est absolument formidable!!

Hilary Hahn on Deutsche Grammophone

(there aren't any strict rules governing), or, "tout dépend de l'usage et du sens" (everything depends on the usage and the sense), are the phrases which foreign language learners dread.

Update: Poems "Interpretations of Silence" (1/7)
Here:
A Hope
I have recently written up seven poems under the title "Interpretations of Silence." It is the first series of poems in English I have written in quite a while (virtually almost a year).
I decided to put them up one by one, in such a pace that by the time all seven poems are up, I will be done with the school for this year. So stay tuned, come back, and read all seven of them.
This first one, "A Hope," is a short piece that serves as a prelude, not only to this particular sequence, but also within a greater scale, one might say, to a new phase in my writing life.

Summer dream glimpsed in advance
(A Midsummer Night's Dream by Shakespeare. Shakespeare on the Lawn production. Director: Katie Mason. Fri. Apr. 7, 2006.)
A joyful presentation of one of the most commonly staged plays by Shakespeare. The play that blesses the act of communal artistic enterprise by its very being one such project. The play that makes one smile. The play I fell in love with.
